Listen to Obituary

James Edward Waller, Jr., passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the age of 73.

Ed was born on December 8, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late James Edward Waller, Sr. and Winnie Gleason Waller. He graduated from Warner Robins High School with the class of 1971 before continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma.

Ed spent many years working as a maintenance mechanic at Anchor Glass, where he put his mechanical knowledge and skills to good use. He took pride in his work and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Ed had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed spending time out on the open road. He especially enjoyed participating in charity rides, which allowed him to combine his passion for riding with something even more meaningful—helping others. Ed had a genuine heart for people and was always passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those around him. Whether through acts of kindness or simply lending a helping hand, he found fulfillment in being there for others.

Above all, Ed treasured his family and friends. The relationships he built throughout his life meant the world to him, and he loved those closest to him deeply. He valued time spent together and the memories made along the way. Ed will be remembered for his generous heart, caring nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness and the love he shared with others will leave a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his son, James Edward “Eddie” Waller, III; siblings, Ron Waller (Joan), Bobby Waller (LaNell), Tim Waller (Kristi), and Nancy Waller (Andy); and grand dog, Natty.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Ed will be laid to rest privately.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
