James Franklin "Jimmy" Defore, Jr.

Jimmy DeFore, Jr., 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2017.

Jimmy was born on October 27, 1955 in Macon, Georgia. A proud Air National Guard Veteran, he served during several conflicts. Following his active duty service, Jimmy worked for Delta Equipment Enterprise as the Director of Operations. He worked hard providing for his family. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to country music, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family especially his three grandchildren as well as his many nieces and nephews. Jimmy attended Southside Baptist Church-Kathleen.

His father, James Franklin DeFore, Sr., and sister, Janet M. DeFore, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, James Franklin “Frankie” DeFore, III of Kathleen; Miranda Nolen (Ryan) of Northport, Alabama; grandchildren, James Franklin “Jaimy” DeFore IV, Lilith Nicole DeFore, Ian Nolen; mother, Annie Eleanor DeFore, and siblings, Kenneth “Kenny” DeFore (Kasey N.) of Warner Robins and Susan “Susie” Spengler (Mark) of Kathleen.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Jimmy will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.
