James H. Bennett, 68, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003. Services will be held on Friday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the American Stroke Association, Memorial Processing, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX 75231, or to the VFW, Memorial Post 6605, 1011 Corder RD, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Born in Henderson, N.C., Mr. Bennett was the son of the late Landon and Buena Bennett. He was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a 28-year veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Viet Nam Conflict and earning the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was a member of the VFW, the Moose Lodge, and the Association of Old Crows. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Bennett, Byron; daughters, Linda L. Bennett, Warner Robins, and Carol Menke (James), Forsyth; brothers, John and Clifton Bennett, Henderson, N.C.; sister, Ellen Hughes, Raleigh, N.C.; and step-grandchildren, Nora Bunnell, Macon; and Amy Menke, Amanda Menke, and Scott Menke, Miamisburg, OH.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
