James “Jimmy” Calvin Dykes, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Jimmy was born on November 21, 1947, in Chester, Georgia, to the late Calvin Dykes and Ova Belle Ragan.
A devoted and lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, Jimmy rarely missed watching a game. Whether cheering from his favorite chair at home or discussing stats and plays with friends and family, baseball brought him great joy.
Jimmy believed deeply in the value of hard work. He dedicated more than three decades of faithful service as a Service Technician with National Exterminating, where he earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Norma Sue Dykes; his children, Bridget and Toby; his stepson, Jason Hall (Amber); his cherished grandchildren; and his sister.
A memorial service honoring Jimmy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
