James Cecil "Boot" Langston Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong resident of Warner Robins, passed away on March 22, 2025. Born on October 31, 1942, to Gussie Langston and Alma Jones Langston, he was the youngest of thirteen siblings and grew up surrounded by a strong, loving family.
Boot dedicated his career to civil service, retiring from Robins Air Force Base after years of hard work and commitment. A true Georgia Bulldogs fan, he never missed the chance to cheer on his team. He also had a deep passion for restoring old cars and collecting model cars, finding joy in preserving the beauty of classic automobiles.
Above all, Boot cherished his family. He was a loving husband to Cheryl Jean Bailey Langston; a devoted father to James “Jimmy” Langston, Jr., Kimberly Langston, Nikki Thompson Minchew (Sherman), Donna Rogers (Mike) and Tim Langston (Jonathan); grandfather to Kyle Kinsey, Mathew Kinsey (Sarah), Michael Kitchens (Katheryn), Nicklaus Green, Sara Hamdan, and Dustin Rogers (Leila); brother to Polly Walker; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He is preceded in death by twelve siblings.
A memorial service celebrating Boot’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a reception for family and friends.
