James William Thomas, Sr.

Bill Thomas, 79, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2004 in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA. Services will be held at 1:00 on Sunday, November 14, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas was born in Bagdad, Florida. Mr. Thomas served in the United States Army as a PFC. He was a POW and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Clover. He was a VFW member and a lifetime DAV member. His parents, Jessie and Irene Thomas; children, James Earl Thomas and James William Thomas, Jr. and granddaughter, Jane Gore, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jane Gore-Thomas, Leesburg, GA; children, Nita Turlington-LeMon (Thomas), FL, Jimmy Thomas, FL, Linda Fleming (John), FL, Vivian Nobles (Dennis), FL; step-children, William Gore, Jr. (Cathi), Daytona, FL, Debbie Albright, Warner Robins, Steve Gore, Warner Robins, Kathy Whitney (Mike), Albany, Danny Gore, Warner Robins; 26 grandchildren.
