Jan Ethridge Prince, 80, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 21, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1945, in Yatesville, Georgia, to the late Lamar and Julia Ruffin Ethridge. Jan was raised in Yatesville and was a cheerleader at Yatesville High School, where she graduated in 1964. She went on to attend Middle Georgia College, earning her business degree in 1966.

Following college, Jan moved independently to Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked as a secretary for U.S. Gypsum. In 1972, she married and moved to Warner Robins, Georgia. During the early years of her marriage, Jan devoted herself to raising her children and was a homemaker. She also assisted with bookkeeping at Centerville United Methodist Church while her children were young.

As her children grew, Jan returned to the workforce. She worked at Gould, then Litton and McDonnell Douglas, before beginning what would become a long and dedicated career with Boeing. There, she served as a planning engineer for the C-17 program until her retirement in 2005.

Jan was a woman of many interests and treasured the simple joys of life. She loved reading, history, traveling, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was at the center of her life, and she took great pride in being an involved and loving mother.

Jan was kindhearted, determined, strong-willed, independent, loving, and generous. She freely gave of her time, her resources, and her heart. She was always looking for opportunities to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of others.

As a mother, Jan was deeply involved in her children's lives. She taught them the importance of strong morals, guided them through every stage of life, and continued to offer her wisdom and support as they became adults and later parents themselves. Her love was steady, her guidance unwavering, and her presence a constant source of strength for her family.

Jan leaves behind a legacy of love, determination, generosity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her, but her memory will live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Theo Prince; and siblings, Sidney Ethridge, Sylvia Watson and Earl Ethridge.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving sons; Brandon Prince (Theresa) and Ryan Prince (Ashley); step-daughter, Shannon Smith (William); grandchildren, Jessica Rincon (Nick), Elizabeth Norman (Cade), Michael Dimsdale, Asa Prince, Braeden Prince, and Davis Prince; and two great granddaughters.

Visitation with Jan’s family will be Tuesday, August 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with the funeral service celebrating her life following in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. At the family’s request, burial will be private.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@McCulloughFuneralHome via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
