Janet “Sue” Boley, 88, peacefully passed away at The Canopy of Warner Robins on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Sue was born on December 22, 1935, in Corsica, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Reverend John and Mrs. Mildred Stevens Hart. She dedicated her life to education, serving as a teacher for two decades, retiring from the Mineral County Board of Education.
Sue was an active member of the Houston Lake Presbyterian Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was also known for her creative talents; she was an accomplished artist, skilled crafter, and avid knitter.
Sue will be fondly remembered for her quick wit which brought joy to those around her. Above all, she cherished her role as a loving mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her family and supporting them in all their endeavors.
The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to The Canopy at Warner Robins and Georgia Hospice for the care given to Sue.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Boley, and son, Jim Boley.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Jeff Boley (Jane) of Boiling Springs, PA, John Boley (Roni) of Manchester, KY, and Joy Dumas (Chuck) of Perry; grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Bryan, Megan, Jared, Jordan, and Ben Boley, Julianna Dumas, Jillian Dumas, and Giles Wright; daughter-in-law, Tammy Suddeth (David) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; and longtime caregiver, Aisha Fain.
Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in at Houston Lake Presbyterian Church. Afterward, Sue will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory Janet “Sue” Boley to Houston Lake Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
