Janet Elisa Workman entered into heaven's gates on June 29, 2026, surrounded by the promise of eternal peace and the love of those who will forever cherish her memory.
Born on September 22, 1963, Elisa was a woman of deep faith, compassion, and creativity whose life touched countless hearts. She graduated from Brooks County High School in 1981 before continuing her education at Georgia College & State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. Her love of learning and appreciation for the arts remained evident throughout her life.
Music was one of Elisa's greatest passions. An accomplished pianist, she found joy in sharing her gift with others, especially during the years her son served as an evangelist and pastor. Few things brought her greater happiness than accompanying his ministry through music, using her talents to glorify God and encourage those who gathered to worship. Whether playing a familiar hymn or a favorite melody, Elisa's music spoke to the hearts of those who listened.
A gifted writer, Elisa also expressed herself through poetry, capturing life's beauty, faith, and emotions with grace and sincerity. She possessed a thoughtful spirit and a kind heart that naturally drew her toward serving others.
Throughout her life, Elisa was an active member of several local churches, faithfully serving wherever she was needed. She participated in numerous mission trips, often blessing congregations by serving as pianist during worship services. Her faith was not simply something she professed—it was something she lived each day through acts of kindness, generosity, and service.
Elisa also volunteered at her local food bank, finding fulfillment in helping those in need and making a difference in her community. She believed even the smallest acts of kindness could have a lasting impact.
When she wasn't serving others, Elisa loved to travel. She especially treasured trips to the beach, where she found peace listening to the waves, and visits to the mountains, where she admired God's beautiful creation. These places provided moments of rest, reflection, and treasured memories with those she loved.
Elisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Workman; mother, Shirley Ragans; sister, Pamela Ragans; and grandparents, Preston and Mattie Ragans, and H.R. and Audrey Bentley.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Brother Tony Workman; father, Melvin Ragans; nieces, Kristen Messer and Gretchen Lopez (Henry); and other extended loving family.
Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
