Jannette Langley, 80, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Jannette was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 10, 1945, to the late William Daniel and Ester Lee Spiers. During her high school years, she enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and attending her home economics classes – where she learned how to sew the clothes that she and her daughters would wear. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart Elson “Butch” Langley, Jr., who she dedicated herself to supporting during his Air Force years.

Jannette’s next adventure was raising her two daughters. She was a stay-at-home Mom for many years and was proud to take care of both her children and anyone else who found themselves in her home. Sometimes she would even invite these extra guests to join them on family trips. Jannette loved opening her home to her daughters’ friends, even for weeks at a time. She never met a stranger and loved to make everyone laugh.

Later, Jannette took on a temporary job as a receptionist at The Macon Telegraph that eventually turned into a seventeen-year career. Her ability to make anyone feel at home and at ease made her a perfect fit, and Jannette’s impact on her coworkers and the public left a lasting impression.

Jannette was deeply involved in her churches, where she was always happy to serve wherever she was needed. In her first church, First Baptist Centerville, she and Butch faithfully taught second 2nd grade Sunday School and choir and served as RA and GA leaders. At her next church, Northside Baptist, Jannette served in a variety of roles and was a devoted member of the choir. Her final church home was Friendship Baptist Church, where she has “adopted” Pastor Paul Cowles, served faithfully as a greeter and choir member, and made numerous friends that supported her during her toughest times.

In her free time, Jannette enjoyed fishing with her dear husband, Butch, crocheting as time allowed, and making lots of bead crafts. In her final years, Jannette found joy in making pictures for her friends and family with Diamond Painting crafts. Above all, she loved spending time with friends and family, especially over a bite to eat.

Jannette loved being Grandma and Great Grandma. She could often be heard saying, “I love you more,” in competition with her grandkids and great grandkids. While it was all in good fun, it also reflected her heart – one filled with love and devotion for her family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to meet her.

In addition to her parents, Jannette was preceded by her beloved husband of 63 years, Elson “Butch” Langley, Jr., her five siblings, and her infant son Richard.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Sharon Gill (Mark) and Connie Hauck (Robert); her grandchildren, Lyndsey Gill, Marko Gill (Tommi), Jeremy Hauck, and Aaron Hauck (Leah); and her great grandchildren, Levi Hauck, Zoe Hauck, Carly Hauck, Emma Hauck, Julian Gill, and Pete Gill; along with a host of extended family, church family, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Following visitation, a funeral service will take place in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Jannette will then be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that memorial donations be made to the Youth Fund at Friendship Baptist Church at 1322 Feagin Mill Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
