He graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Education, preparing for a career that would positively impact countless young lives.

Following graduation, J.D. moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where he began his career as an educator and coach in the Houston County School System in 1973. Whether in the classroom or on the field and court, J.D. believed in helping students reach their full potential. His influence extended far beyond wins and losses, as he instilled discipline, confidence, character, and perseverance in the generations of students and athletes who had the privilege of learning from him.

After retiring from education, J.D. devoted more time to the hobbies he loved most.
