Jean Ferguson, 89, entered into rest on the morning of Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Born on July 3, 1936, in Navoo, Alabama, Jean was the daughter of the late Avery and Rebecca Stilwell. She was the youngest of eight children, and shared a special bond with her favorite sibling, Margie. Jean later graduated from high school in Jasper, Alabama.
Jean will be remembered as a kind, loving, and gentle soul who found her greatest joy in caring for others. A devoted mother, she dedicated most of her life to raising her children, providing them with unwavering love, support, and guidance. Her quiet and giving nature left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Jean was also known for her cooking and baking. She enjoyed cake decorating, taking pride in creating beautiful and delicious treats. In her leisure time, Jean was an enthusiastic fan of the band, Alabama, and of the University of Alabama college football team.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, William Tucker Ferguson of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, John Ferguson (Irene) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gregory Ferguson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Hudson Judy (Russell) of Elberton, Georgia, William “Bill” Ferguson, Jr. (Vicki) and Brenda Ferguson, all of Warner Robins; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Parkway Memorial Gardens, where Jean will be laid to rest.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Jean Ferguson to the Houston County Humane Society, 810 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, Georgia 31028.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
