Jeanette Joyce Reid Underwood

Jeanette Reid Underwood, 84, walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Friday, June 1, 2018.

Jeanette was born in Charleston, South Carolina on September 14, 1933 to the late Cornelius Archibald and Marvillee Alexander Reid and was of the Baptist faith. She moved with her family to Warner Robins in 1972 and retired as a computer operator in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. When she was not baking, golfing, traveling, or camping, you could find Jeanette enjoying time spent with her family and grandchildren. Jeanette also had a wonderful laugh and loved to sing and dance. She
leaves behind so many that will remember her zest for life, her contagious smiles, and her wonderful sense of humor. Those who knew her remember her as being as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clifton Reid and Stella Greene.

Jeanette’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 35 years, Hugh G. “Jerry” Underwood of Warner Robins; children, Sharon Shurett O’Neal (Glen) of Semmes, Alabama, William Thomas Shurett, Jr. (Rebecca) of Pace, Florida, Rebecca Anne “Becky” Shurett of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jennie Murphy (Scott), Leslie Leatherwood (Barry), Joshua Alexander Shurett, and William Thomas Shurett III; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Ernest Reid (Margaret) of Orange Park, Florida.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pat Chastain officiating. After the service, Jeanette will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
