Jerry Dean Peoples, 68, entered into rest on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born in Macon, Georgia, on February 28, 1957, Jerry spent most of his life in Houston County.

A true handyman, Jerry worked as both a mechanic and an electrician, always ready to roll up his sleeves and help wherever he was needed. Jerry had a natural knack for tinkering and fixing just about anything. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing and cooking out with his loved ones. He also had a gift for turning strangers into friends and could always put a smile on the faces of those around him.

While Jerry’s days were numbered on earth, he was asked if knew who his Savior was; Jerry clearly declared, “Of course I do, Jesus Christ,” despite usually struggling to speak.

He will be remembered for his generous heart and the way he made everyone feel like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Roy Peoples and Mary Ann McMahan Peoples.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Sonya Sanders (Brad) of Cochran; grandchildren, Michael Lawson of Macon, and MaKayla Sanders of Cochran; siblings, Jammie Peoples (Debbie) of Kathleen and Phyllis Hathcock (Jeff) of Perry; nieces and nephews, Brandy Hutchinson, Ricky Peoples, and Jeffery Hathcock; as well as several other beloved extended family members and friends.

At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
