Jessie Fant Herlong

Jessie Herlong, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Jessie was born on December 24, 1937 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Rufus and Lucille Martin. She was a loving and devoted homemaker whose family was her highest priority. Jessie also enjoyed spending time outdoors doing yardwork, working in her flowerbeds, and gardening. However, her greatest joy came from time spent with her beloved family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded death by her first husband, Julian Fant; second husband, Benson Herlong; and sister, Anne Hardin (Henry).

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Julian Fant (Penny); Allen Fant (Terry); grandchildren, Alex, Holly, and Carley Fant; siblings, Gwen Hardin (Ralph); Billy Hardin (Jo Ann); Foster Martin; Steve Martin (Linda); as well as many special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Jessie's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jessie Fant Herlong to Rock Presbyterian Church, 122 Rock Church Road N.W., Greenwood, South Carolina, 29649.
