Jessie Helen Rowlands

Jessie Helen Rowlands, 97, was born on May 16, 1928, in Scranton, PA, to the late John and Helen Walker. She passed away on March 25, 2016, in Perry, GA. In 1946, she married Robert Rowlands, and together they moved to Rochester, NY, where they built a life of love that lasted for 60 years.

Jessie proudly attended cosmetology school, which set her on a successful career as a hairdresser, a profession she loved and practiced for many years.

Her greatest passion, though, was her family. Vivacious and fun-loving, Jessie brought energy, joy, and celebration to every gathering—truly a party waiting to happen!In addition to her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, as well as her sister, Dorothy Walker of Forty Fort, PA.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Kenneth) Bradstreet of Palmyra, NY; son, John (Kathy) Rowlands of Warner Robins, GA; granddaughter Carrie (Steve) McMurray of Frankfort, NY; grandsons Jason (Danielle) Mize of Butler, PA, and Eric (Shannon) Mize of Warner Robins, GA; along with eight great-grandchildren - Jack and Audrey McMurray; Carson, Jaelin, and Max Mize; Jameson, Grayson, and Addison Mize; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request, all services held will be private.
