Joann Denise White was born February 4, 1965, to Mattie Emma White and Nathaniel Arthur White. She was the baby of the family and was affectionately known as “Booja.” She was born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Throughout her life, Joann demonstrated a strong work ethic and built meaningful relationships through her work, where she was loved and appreciated. She built her career in medical transportation services, serving as a Manager with Marshall Newsome and as a District Manager at Donald George. In her later years, she worked as a forklift operator at Tractor Supply.

Joann was known for her vibrant personality, graceful presence, and was always admired for her class and elegant sense of style. She also found great joy in music, especially country, and sang with the Sounds of Praises and the Houston County Community Choir.

Above all else, Joann’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were truly her heart. Her grandkids rarely heard the word “no” from her. She loved to spoil them and found happiness in making them smile.

As the matriarch of her family, Joann instilled in her children unity, devotion, and the importance of protecting one another.

Joann White was preceded in death by Vernon White, Nathaniel White Jr., and Garmell White.

She will be deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her children, Porscha Johnson, Kenisha Thomas, Ashley Thomas, and Vernon Haslem; her grandchildren, Alisha Gibson, Loren Thomas, Vernon Haslem Jr., and Levi Thomas; her siblings, Wilma Reeves, Bobbi Edwards, Caroline Hicks, Vivian Rivers, Levon Smith, and her brother ZacZanzy White. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home.
