John Rigby, 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at home. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 1, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment in Sylvan Abby Memorial Park, Clearwater, FL, on October 4. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Mr. Rigby was born in Eastman, GA. After moving to Clearwater, FL during the 1940’s, he worked for the Clearwater Sun Newspaper for 38 years. After he retired, he moved to Warner Robins, GA in 1984. He loved gardening and square dancing. His parents, Turner C. Rigby and Sarah Rigby, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Rigby, Warner Robins; brothers; James Rigby, Sumter, SC, Cliff Rigby, Phoenix City, AL; sisters; Molly Ferdon, Jacksonville, FL, Barbara Clements, Fitzgerald, GA; sons; John Lewis Rigby, FL; Michael J. Rigby (Beverly), FL; Charles E. Rigby, FL; daughters; Rosemary Avera (Ron), FL; Jane Osborne (John), FL; Bonnie Jessie Carroll (Larry), FL; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 step-children; Sandra Anness, Sheila Williams, Dianah Smith, Robby Roberts; 10 step-grandchildren, and 9 step-great grandchildren.
