John Jackson joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 11, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 73.
Born in Ware County, Georgia, John was one of three children to the late Harold and Joy Jackson. He was a 1960 graduate of Ware County High School and a 1962 graduate of Southeastern Technical College. John retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Industrial Engineering Technician after 37 years of dedicated Civil Service.
On June 8, 1963, John made the lovely Jeanette Grantham his wife, and together, they raised two sons in a home filled with love, respect, and most importantly, with knowing Jesus. John was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church and enjoyed being part of the Jerry Evans Sunday School Class. He was also a past Master at Tyrian Lodge III. Woodworking and gardening were his two favorite pastimes.
He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife of 52 years, Jeanette Jackson of Warner Robins; children, Tony Jackson (Kim) and Ray Jackson (Pam), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Daniel, and Amy Jackson; siblings, Floyd Jackson (Linda) and Wanda Roth, both of Waycross; close friend, Richard Nicholson (Julia) of Bonaire; and a number of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for all of the caregivers at Gentiva Hospice and especially to Angels at Home caregivers, Pat, Carol, Gloria and Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Johnny Ellison will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Jackson will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
