John Ronald Cheney, 72, entered into rest on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
John Ronald Cheney was born in Oriskany, NY, on February 5, 1954. He grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He served in the US Air Force in Ubon, Thailand.
He retired from the Macon County EMS where he served as a paramedic for 27 years.
John was a talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He shared his talent in several churches over the years, more recently serving as worship leader with Assembly Community Outreach.
He was admired and loved by many and will be greatly missed.
John was preceded in death by his father Harry E. Cheney, and his mother Barbara Davenport Cheney Kopicko. Survivors include: his wife, Terri Cheney, sons John D.Cheney of Kingsland, Georgia and Samuel Blackstone of Reynolds, his daughters Amie Blackstone of Minot, North Dakota and Katie (Cody) Peterson of Warner Robins, a daughter-in-law, Bess Blackstone of Reynolds, and his brother George (Pilar) Cheney of Georgetown, Texas.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
