John Harvey Zodun, 78, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026.
Born on October 4, 1947, in Macon, John lived a life filled with adventure, service, creativity, and deep love for those around him. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly joined the United States Navy, serving as a “River Rat” during the Vietnam War. His military service was a source of great pride and reflected the courage and determination that defined his life.
John had a lifelong passion for photography and spent many years capturing memories through his work with Olan Mills and later with the Houston County Sheriff’s Department. Whether behind the camera or spending time with friends and family, he had a gift for making people feel seen and appreciated.
An outdoorsman and thrill-seeker at heart, John loved water sports, racing boats, shooting, and racing cars. He also enjoyed building and working with his hands, always finding satisfaction in creating something meaningful. He carried a strong appreciation for his Creek Nation heritage and took pride in his bloodline and family roots.
Above all, John treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He was known for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and love for animals, especially dogs. His loyal companions brought him immense joy throughout his life.
