Johnnie Jones

Johnnie Jones, 77, entered into rest on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Johnnie was born on November 9, 1945, in Macon, Georgia to the late Ada Mae and Johnny Lee Jones. Johnnie had many interesting jobs in his lifetime, most recently being a furniture assembler for Bassett Furniture. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and was lovingly described as a barbeque grill master. He also enjoyed working around the house and taking care of others whenever he could. He was a friend to everyone and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie M. Sanders, brother, Willie Alford Jones, and stepbrother, Gray Wells.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Louise A. Jones of Macon, Georgia, Lelia Louise Ford of Macon, Georgia, Johnnie Jones, Jr. of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Johnnie Jones, II of Macon, Georgia; siblings, Edmon Jones (Glenda) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Margaret Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia, Lillie Mae Gordon of Warner Robins, Georgia, Tina Marshall (Artis) of Macon, Georgia, and Jan King (Felix Leon) of Warner Robins, Georgia; stepsiblings, Willie Wells (Emma) of Warner Robins, Georgia, M.C. Wells of Warner Robins, Georgia, Kenneth Wells (Sheila) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Brenda Ragin (Roosevelt), Mary William (Roger), Beverly Wells, Barbara Wells, and Edna Moore (James); dedicated friend, Sherry Childs and caregiver and sister, Jan King; along with a host of grandchildren, niece, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A repast will be held at the residence of Johnnie’s sister, Jan King, at 101 Cherokee Forest Trail, Warner Robins, GA 31088 directly after the service.
