.Johnny William Britt, Jr., 63, entered into rest on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Johnny W. Britt, Jr. was born on March 26, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Johnny W. Britt, Sr. and MaryEllen Roper Wood. A true country boy at heart, Johnny found his greatest joy in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line in a quiet fishing spot or tracking game through the woods, he was in his element—an avid sportsman with a knack for landing the biggest catch.
A skilled craftsman by trade, Johnny’s hands shaped more than just wood, brick, and metal—they built memories and a lasting legacy. Whether working as a mason, welder, or carpenter, he took pride in his work, earning a reputation as the man you could count on to get the job done right.
Johnny’s hard work and love for the simple things in life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Kermit.
His memory will forever be treasured by his siblings, James E. Britt (Lisa) of Kathleen, Georgia, Cecil P. Britt (Michele) of Gainesville, Georgia, Richard B. Wood (Donna) of Opelika, Alabama, and Faye Wood of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, along with several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia, where Johnny will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Johnny Britt, Jr. to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/ or Pine Pointe Hospice at 6261 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210.
