Jonathan Jernell Lawrence, born on April 20, 1982, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on September 22, 2024, in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was a vibrant creative spirit whose passion for life and art left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Jonathan’s artistic journey began in high school, where he sold his first painting, showcasing his extraordinary talent and imaginative flair. His love for painting was only rivaled by his love for cooking, and he often delighted family and friends with his culinary creations.
Jonathan cherished moments spent fishing at Tippy Dam, where he found peace and inspiration in nature. He loved camping and traveled to most of the lower 48 states, exploring the beauty of the outdoors. Jonathan had a deep love for his dog, Pluto, who brought him joy and companionship. He was known for his generous heart, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. His compassion and willingness to uplift others were qualities that defined his character.
Jonathan regularly attended the Greater Apostolic Faith Temple, where he embraced the sense of community and spiritual fellowship that enriched his life.
He was the grandson of Robert & Mary Booker and Wesley & Lela Lawrence, who preceded him in death, along with four aunts and an uncle.
Jonathan is survived by his father Kenny Lawrence, Sr. of Michigan; mother, Elizabeth Lawrence of Warner Robins, Georgia; brothers, Darnell Lawrence of Warner Robins, Georgia and Kenny Lawrence, Jr. of Michigan; nieces, Imani and Zaniyah; nephew, Kingston; uncles, Tony Lawrence, Doran Lawrence, Rayfield Lawrence, Aaron Lawrence, Lonnie Lawrence, Kevin Lawrence, Steve Lawrence, West Lawrence, Broderick Booker, and LeRoy Johnson; aunts, Helen Page, Rose Curry, Lettie Wallace, Shell Ramsamugh, Josephine Hall, Antionette Booker, Rhonda Lawrence, Michelle McCoy, Loise Lawrence; god-mother Linda Eubanks, and play-sister Andrea Cooper.
The family will greet friends during a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Jonathan’s life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the McCullough Funeral Home chapel. Afterward, Jonathan will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
