Ed Mullis, Sr. “Nickel Man”, age 73, joined his beloved wife, Carolyn “Lil Bit” Mullis, in heaven on Friday, November 22, 2019.
Ed was born in Abbeville, Georgia on July 6, 1946 to the late Theo and Lizzie Mae Whitman Mullis and was of the Baptist faith. A resident of Warner Robins for most of his life, he retired from Spectrum Log. Ed loved working in the yard, playing poker, having bonfires, listening to country music, and dancing and singing karaoke with Carol.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Joseph Edward Mullis, Jr. and Angela Dawn Bivins; brothers, Charles, Calvin, Dickie, and Gerald Mullis; and sisters, Reba Renno and Linda Starnes.
Those left to cherish Ed’s memory are his loving children, Dennis Wayne Mullis (John Woodham) and Jason Lee Mullis (Darlene), both of Warner Robins, Reesy Kreznar (Rick) of Coolidge, Georgia, Steen Harris of Minnesota, and Melissa “Lulu” Baker of Ashburn, Virginia; grandchildren, James Edward Robinson, Austin Wayne Bivins, Kylee Nicole Mullis, Conner Joseph Mullis, Tyler Rollison, Colby Kreznar, Patrick Anest, and Nate Hughes; siblings, Billy Mullis (Janice) of Leesburg, Georgia, and Faye Sines and Frances Danzer (Bryan), both of Warner Robins; special niece, Kaleigh Mullis of Warner Robins; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. At the family’s request, his burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Ed to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste A., Macon, GA 31201.
