Joseph Michael Merlucci

Joseph M Merlucci, a charismatic and well-loved man whose presence could light up any room, passed away peacefully at the age of 73. Born on November 13, 1951, in Springfield, New Jersey, Joe grew up surrounded by family and friends in the community he loved. He graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in 1969, and soon after, proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.

Following his service, Joe began a long and dedicated career with UPS, where his leadership and work ethic carried him through 25 years, retiring as a Manager. Not one to slow down, Joe later became the owner of Powders Unlimited, where he continued to pour his energy and passion into his work.

Beyond his career, Joe’s life was defined by his love for people and his faith. A devoted member of Calvary Chapel Heartland, he found great joy and purpose in his church community. He was a man who loved deeply and lived fully—whether out on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying the beach and the ocean he treasured so much.

Joe’s big personality was unforgettable. He was magnetic, genuine, and full of life—people naturally gravitated toward him, drawn in by his warmth, humor, and the way he made everyone feel valued.

Above all else, Joe adored his family. His love for them was boundless, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly in their lives.

Joe will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, friend, and mentor whose spirit touched countless lives.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Merlucci.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Maggie Merlucci; children Susan Merlucci Reno (Michael) of New York, Jennifer Ann Merlucci of New Jersey, Joseph Michael Merlucci (Leslie) of Georgia; grandchild, Alessio Merlucci; mother, Mildred Merlucci; sister, Jo Ann Ratti (Chris); and niece Erica Ratti.
