Josefa “Josephine” Lascano, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her four daughters on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia.

She was born on March 28, 1932 in Castroville, Texas to the late Desiderio and Petra Raygosa. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Aciano Lascano. The pair connected when Josie wrote a friendly letter to him while he was serving in the Air Force. They married on February 19, 1957 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville, Texas. Ace’s government career on the base brought the family to Warner Robins in 1973.

Their union brought four daughters, Leticia Hume of Warner Robins, Delia Betancourt (Joey) of Byron, Lorie Wigmore (John) of Brunswick , and Lydia Humphrey (Mike) of Warner Robins. There are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.

Josie was a dedicated homemaker. She loved playing Friday night BINGO at the Knights of Columbus and gambling, either at the slots in Vegas or pennies playing Michigan Tripoly with family. She enjoyed spending time outside in her yard, sewing, and cooking. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. You could find Josie in the 90s shouting “Base hit! Base hit! Base hit!” at her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves on TBS. The family also knew when her “stories” were on and made sure to be quiet at 1:00 p.m. for All My Children! Josie and Ace enjoyed welcoming friends and family to their home, hosting Christmas parties and creating traditions of tamale making! This cherished tradition filled her kitchen with warmth, laughter, and love. Later in life, her great-grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments brought her the most joy.

Josephine was one of twelve siblings, preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers. She is survived by her sister Leocadia (Carrie) Aguinaga of Castroville, TX and Desiderio (Desi) Raygosa, Jr. of Castroville, TX. and many nieces and nephews in Georgia, Texas, and Michigan.

Visitation is Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. At the family’s request, burial will be private at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
