Josie Mae Murray

Josie Mae Murray, 63, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2003 in her home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home; interment will be private. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Born in Abbeville, Mrs. Murray was the daughter of the late John Jacob and Gussie Mae Dorminey. She was a homemaker, but had been employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart for three years. She attended Green Acres Baptist Church and was a member of AARP.

Survivors include her husband, Isaac Murray, Byron; three children: Alma Shannon (Paul), Macon; Jo Shannon (Joel), Byron; and Wallace Murray (Jo), Douglasville; sister, Gertrude Rowell, Fitzgerald; five brothers: James Dorminey, Albany; J.R. Dorminey and W.C. Dorminey, Fitzgerald; David Garrison, Fitzgerald; and Herman Sewell, Tifton; and three grandchildren: Paul T. Shannon, Jr., Amanda Murray, and Kelly Elaine Murray.
