Jovan Yohanan Bryant, 41, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Jovan was born on May 8, 1982, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Growing up a military child, Jovan lived all over in interesting places such as England, New Mexico, Alaska, Idaho, and primarily in Pensacola, Florida. He graduated high school from Mountain Home High School in Mountain Home, Idaho, where he was a track star throughout his high school career. From there, he moved to Brandon, Florida where he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During that time, he worked as a civil engineer and retired as a Master Sergeant after 14 years prior to joining the Air Force Reserves. While in the Reserves, he was a career advisor and retired in April of 2023. With his love of music, Jovan earned his bachelor’s degree in music engineering from Full Sail University. He took that knowledge and was previously a sound technician for Word in Season Ministries and Houston Church. He was also working on his HVAC license with the hopes of opening his own business. He and his wife, Kay enjoyed doing jujitsu through Miller Martial Arts. In his free time, he enjoyed Japanese cars, anime, gaming, and technology. Always the social butterfly, Jovan loved people. His presence will be deeply missed by those who love him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 17 years, Kaori “Kay” Bryant of Bonaire, GA; children, Kaname Bryant of Institute, WV, Joziah Bryant, and Elisah Bryant, both of Bonaire, GA; parents, John Bryant of Pensacola, FL and Catherine Wilson (Stan Wilson, Jr.); siblings, Marie Glover, Alex Bryant, Porsha Wilson, Quincy Wilson, Jonathan Bryant, Joshaun Bryant, and Christian John Bryant; grandmother, Ima Jean Herbert of Pensacola, FL; and mother and father-in-law, Toshiharu and Misako Sakuraba.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
