Joyce F. Robinson

May 17, 1931 — May 4, 2025

Warner Robins

Joyce F. Robinson, 93, entered into rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Joyce was born on May 17, 1931, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late J.D. and Ethel Fincher. She was raised in Rockmart, Georgia, and graduated from Rockmart High School in 1948, where she was active in tennis, ping pong, and basketball—always bringing enthusiasm and energy to everything she did.

After high school, Joyce began working for Bell Telephone in Atlanta as a switchboard operator. In 1950, she married the love of her life, James H. Robinson, and embraced her role as a devoted homemaker. The couple eventually settled in Warner Robins, Georgia, where Joyce embarked on a long and dedicated career as a secretary at Robins Air Force Base, continuing her service until retirement.

Even in retirement, Joyce’s spirit of service endured. She volunteered for 14 years as a beloved "Pink Lady" at Houston Medical Center and also worked part-time at Welde’s Dress Shop, always bringing joy and warmth to those around her.

A pillar of faith, Joyce was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church for over 65 years. She instilled in her children not only the importance of church attendance and tithing but, most importantly, the enduring truth that Jesus Christ is Savior. Her Sunday School class held a special place in her heart, and she was known for her steadfast commitment to her faith community.

Joyce was a loving mother who was always present—whether as a confidant, counselor, or loyal friend. She was the heart of her home, juggling work and family with grace and care. After retiring, she and her sister Geraldine explored the world together, creating memories that brought her great joy.

Those who knew Joyce will remember her fiery spirit, sharp sense of humor, and the fun-loving mischief she brought into every room. She had a gift for making people laugh and feel loved, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Robinson, sister, Geraldine Tucker, son, James D. Robinson, and stillborn daughter whom she often expressed looking forward to finally meeting, Julie Ann Robinson.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Gerald Lawrence “Larry” Robinson (Leslie), Kenneth W. Robinson (Lisa) and Carol J. Chambers (Tommy); grandchildren, Brian Robinson (Peggy), Michele Robinson, Kathryn Curnutte (Cody), Julie Anne Adickes (Neal), and Stephanie Cox (John); and sister, Peggy Chandler (Phil), along with eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Joyce will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
