Karen Yvonne Swift, 67, entered into rest on the morning of Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Born on March 17, 1958, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Karen was the daughter of the late Claude Powell and Lillian Cook Powell. She accepted Christ as a young lady and became a member of a local church in Madisonville, Kentucky.
A hardworking and determined woman, Karen managed several hotels in the Perry area and later retired from GEICO in Macon. She enjoyed solving puzzles, was an avid reader, and loved to travel.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Brianna Elizabeth Swift; and siblings, Angela McNary, Claudette Unoessien, Thurman Powell, Claude Powell, Don Powell, and Sharon Powell.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 46 years, Elder Willie Paul Swift, Sr.; children, Paul Michael Swift (Chronicles) of Forest Park, Brandi Williams (Shawn) of Lilburn, and Claude Swift of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Camron Bartlett, Lillian Walker, Jasmine Williams, Simone Williams, Le’Neal Thomas, and Khalil Thomas; siblings, Audrey Powell and Kim Dickerson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Karen Yvonne Swift will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
