Karen Marie Welsh, 71, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Karen was born on February 28, 1955, in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Yewell and Martha Williams. She later married the love of her life, Thomas Vaugn Welsh, and began a family. Karen also led a career in civil service with Robins Air Force Base until her retirement.

Karen was the sort of person you could tell loved life. She brightened every room she entered with her excitement, her joy, and her laughter. Karen loved to sing and was blessed with a beautiful voice that she was able to share with others. She was also an avid dancer, especially when it came to her 70s disco.

In her free time, Karen enjoyed crossword puzzles and pulling for her Georgia Bulldogs. She was also a big fan of old western shows, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Above all, Karen loved her family – her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones. Karen was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and great aunt whose legacy of joy and love serves as a comfort to those she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded by her brother, Y. Dennis Williams.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Thomas Vaughn Welsh; her daughter, Stephanie Pridgen; her siblings, Martha B. Mize (Johnnie), Craig Williams (Jean), and Pattie J. Williams (Patti); her nephews, Micah D. Williams, Jacob V. Williams, Corey Welsh, and Jason Welsh; her nieces, Anita M. Sharp, Dennis Ratliff, Stephanie Mascis-Neumann, Robin Mize Gandhi, Summer Williams, Erin Welsh, and Amanda Jaikel; her brother in law, Doug Welsh (Janice); and her sister in law, Aronna Welsh; along with a many great nieces and nephews that Karen loved very much.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Karen will then be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Karen to a charity of your choosing.
