Kathleen Wagner

Kathleen Messina Wagner passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 79 years old.

The daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine Messina, Kathleen was born in Metuchen, New Jersey, on March 21, 1945. She spent much of her life in Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she lived from 1979 to 2017. Married to the late James Wagner for 49 years, Kathleen enjoyed sharing a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She especially loved spending quality time with her grandchildren. Kathleen also had a passion for gardening, crafting, and hosting family and friends in her home.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Marie DiDonato.

Kathleen is survived by her two children: her son, Michael Borg (Melanie), and daughter, Deborah Johnson (Drew Scott). She was a proud grandmother to Brandon Johnson (Taylor Barnes), Brett Johnson (Courtney Thornton), Jacob M. Borg, Jace Brooks, and Jaden Brooks. She was a loving great-grandmother to Alayna Raine Johnson. Kathleen is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Messina (Elanie), and Anthony Messina (Linda); as well as her niece, Elizabeth DiDonato Bishop, and a host of several other loving family members and friends.
