After graduating from Miami Jackson Senior High School, he embarked on a quest to discover the world beyond his doorstep. Fuelled by a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for growth, Kendrick continued his educational journey at the National School of Technology, immersing himself in the intricate realm of computer systems and Information Technology. Armed with newfound skills and expertise, he blazed a trail through the corridors of corporate America, ascending to the esteemed position of Director of Minority Affairs at the American Cancer Society.

In this pivotal role, Kendrick became a beacon of hope and change, spearheading radio shows and television programs aimed at addressing the disparities plaguing black communities. His unwavering commitment to advocacy and awareness earned him the reputation of a true mover and shaker, dedicated to uplifting those marginalized by society's injustices.

At the tender age of 31, Kendrick embarked on a bold new venture as an entrepreneur, harnessing his entrepreneurial spirit to breathe life into Residential & Commercial Painters LLC. Over the years, he nurtured his business acumen, birthing a multitude of enterprises such as Homeworks, Busterwebb, and Ameribrick, each a testament to his boundless creativity and ingenuity.

Yet, amidst his professional triumphs, Kendrick's greatest legacy lies in the countless lives he touched and transformed. Whether mentoring his children, their friends, or neighbors, Kendrick poured forth wisdom and opportunity, sculpting futures brimming with promise and potential. 

As a devoted father, Kendrick delighted in attending PTSA meetings, school recitals, Christmas programs, and football games, infusing each moment with laughter, love, and boundless enthusiasm. His infectious sense of humor illuminated every gathering, as he regaled loved ones with uproarious impersonations and witty anecdotes.

Kendrick's passions extended far beyond the boardroom, as he found solace and delight in the simple pleasures of landscaping, cooking, singing, painting, and the art of building and restoring furniture. His keen eye for color and design, coupled with his innate creativity, transformed every space he touched into a masterpiece of warmth and elegance, a testament to his unparalleled zest for life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A funeral service celebrating Kendrick’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.  Kendrick Auron Collie, Sr. will be laid to rest privately.
