On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Kenneth Dewaine Wood, peacefully passed away at home. He was 72 years old.
Born in Macon, GA on December 26, 1950, Kenneth grew up in both Macon and Tallahassee, FL. He was a truck driver by trade having formerly owned his own truck and retired from Gilmer Trucking with 20 years of trucking. Kenneth took his responsibilities seriously and did his best to be a wonderful husband, father and provider to his family. On top of being a great family man, he was a devoted pet lover, as well. Kenneth adored his dogs, Thomas, Jackson and Cash, along with his horses, Penny and Penelope; he wholeheartedly enjoyed taking care of them and spoiled them like children. When he wasn’t on the road or tending to his animals, he looked forward to taking trips to the beach with his wife, Colleen, and spending time with the family he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Era Wood; and his sister, Ruby Delany.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Colleen Wood of Hawkinsville, GA; his children, Sean Wood of Albany, GA and Angel Wood of Richmond, VA; grandson, Brennan Wood; and siblings, Lynn Wood, Linda Brewer and Susie Cowger.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
