Kenneth G. Koonce

Kenneth G. Koonce, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Inc., 209 Elberta Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.

Mr. Koonce was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. He was also a retired SMSgt. from the United States Air Force. Mr. Koonce was a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean War, where he received a Bronze Star. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a devoted racing fan. His wife, Verdie A. Koonce, his son, Larry Gale Koonce ; his parents, Homer Gray and Helen Koonce; his brothers, Gerald Koonce; and Louis Gale Koonce; and a sister, Lahoma Walker, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth Gray Koonce, Jr., Columbia, South Carolina; and sister, Rheta Redding, Catoosa, Oklahoma.
