Larry Joseph Guenthner (Daddy/Papa) died peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife, children, and other family members on July 28, 2025. He battled Parkinson’s for 21 years and in recent years, dementia. He maintained grace and kept his sense of humor throughout. His entire life was spent taking care of his family and making others happy. Larry was born February 21, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was one of 12 children.

Larry was a hard worker who served in the Army during the Vietnam war, retired from Crown Cork and Seal, and later from Boeing where he made many friends over the years. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Guenthner, daughter Kimberly Dawson, daughter Tracy Butler (Bobby), Stepdaughter Michelle Arnold (Gerald), stepson Michael Lockhart (Michelle), 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brothers Sonny Guenthner (Pat), Ronald Guenthner (Faith), Daniel Guenthner (Dolly), Artie Guenthner (Cheryl), Sisters Eva Gould and Louise Lynn.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jeanette Guenthner, 5 brothers, Charlie, Billy, Tommy, Harry, & Jerry, his son, Mike Guenthner, and his great grandson, Crue Fauth.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Larry Guenthner to Parkinson’s Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
