Larry Edward Six entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 78 years old.
Born on June 4, 1948, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Larry was a lifelong example of devotion, hard work, and unconditional love. He graduated from Waynesville High School, in Waynesville, Missouri, but one of the greatest blessings to come from those years happened before graduation. At the end of his junior year, Larry met the love of his life, Pati. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a lifelong romance, and the two were married in 1968. Together they built a beautiful life and shared a loving marriage filled with faithfulness, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Following high school, Larry became a licensed pipefitter and welder, embarking on a career that reflected his exceptional work ethic and dedication. He was a proud member of UA Local 344 Plumbers and Pipefitters, where he spent many years honing his craft and earning the respect of his coworkers. Larry continued working until his retirement in 2008, a well-earned milestone after decades of faithful service.
In 1973, Larry and Pati welcomed their daughter, Shelley, into the world. Being parents was one of life's greatest joys, and together they poured their hearts into raising her. Whether it was sporting events, school programs, or other activities, Larry and Pati were always in the stands or the audience, cheering Shelley on every step of the way. Their unwavering love and support created a foundation of cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
Family was always at the center of Larry's life. He shared an especially close bond with his beloved younger sister, Donna. From childhood adventures to countless moments together throughout adulthood, the two created memories that neither time nor distance could diminish. Larry also held a special appreciation for Donna's husband, Lee Hickey, who became much more than a brother-in-law. Lee taught Larry many things over the years—mostly good, as the family would jokingly say—and their relationship was one filled with respect, laughter, and countless stories.
Larry also treasured the time he spent with his brothers, sisters, and extended family. Whether gathered for holidays, celebrations, or simply enjoying each other's company, he found great joy in being surrounded by those he loved. His family was his greatest blessing, and he never missed an opportunity to remind them how much they meant to him.
In 1995, Larry embraced the title that brought him more happiness than any other—Papa. Becoming a grandfather filled his heart in a way that only family could. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, delighting in their accomplishments, sharing in their adventures, and creating memories they will carry with them forever. Above all else, Larry's greatest joy was loving his family and friends. His kind heart, steady presence, and genuine care for others touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pati; and parents, Connie Six and Gladys Farr Wyatt.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Shelley Six-Mays (Josh); grandchildren, Kiley Law, Logan Lister (Raelyn), McKenzie Verger (Sebastian), and Derrick Aldrich; great-grandchildren, Kallie Law, Jaxlyn Law, and Harlow Lister, and Iris Verger; and siblings, Donna Hickey (Lee), Mike Six (Brenda), Randy Six (Darla), Matt Six (Amy), and Lisa Six (Gary).
Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Larry will be laid to rest in Perry Memorial Gardens.
