Lee Gerald Schmittendorf

Lee Gerald Schmittendorf, 60, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 20, 2015.

Lee was born on December 3, 1955 in Springville, New York to the late Gerald Lee and Suzanne Braymiller Schmittendorf. A retired maintenance worker for Gowanda Correctional Facility, he was a basketball referee for IAABO121 for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties in New York and helped direct the Cattaraugus County Horse Show Series. Mr. Schmittendorf was also a member of the Slovenian Gowanda Club. He was loved by many friends and family of the Western New York area. He was a devoted family man and always enjoyed being outdoors.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving daughters, Deanna Underwood (Brandon) of Kathleen and Taylor Schmittendorf of Grand Island, New York; sisters, Linda Nagel (Brian), Lorrie Davis (Ric) and Lisa Adams (Keith), all of Kathleen; significant other, Melissa Peters of Gowanda, New York; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Lee Schmittendorf to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm & Carlton Sts., Buffalo, NY 14263.
