Lenna Mae Mitchell

Lenna Mae Mitchell, 82, entered into rest on Saturday, April 13, 2013.

Lenna was born on May 1, 1930 in Barnesville, Georgia to the late Andrew Jackson Abbott and Mittie Barksdale Abbott. She retired after several years from the Houston County Board of Education and was a much-loved member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Lenna will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted husband, Sammie O. Mitchell, Warner Robins; children, Cathy Tedder (Robin), Perry; Timothy Mitchell, Macon; and Phyllis Maulden (Hal), Cartersville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Hurt, Hampton.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Lamar Memory Gardens in Barnesville. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, Attn: Memorial Donations, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org, where her great-granddaughter is a continuous recipient of their services.
