Leonard Ray Baggett, 80, entered into rest on September 19, 2023.
Leonard was born on October 21, 1942, in Griffin, Georgia to the late Lowell and Charlotte Baggett. He spent the bulk of his childhood in Warner Robins, graduating from Warner Robins High School in 1960. From there, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served honorably for several years as a Russian Linguist. Following his military career, he graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business. He then relocated to Oklahoma City where he worked for Levi’s before forming Jarrett Jean Company with a friend. Later, he moved to Benton, Arkansas where he opened his own insurance agency representing Farmers Insurance Company until his retirement. From there, he returned home to Warner Robins, where he remained for the last three years. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Gatewood and his brother, James Webb Baggett.
His memory will forever be treasured by his grandchildren, Samuel Gatewood and Nikki Kottre (Kenny); great-grandchildren, Jordan Lynn Kottre, Dominick Kottre, and Ellie Claire Kottre; siblings, Larry Baggett, Phyllis Ward, and Iris Miller; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Sandy Valley Baptist Church with military honors.
