Lilas Reid Lann, Jr.

July 6, 1957 — July 18, 2022

A longtime resident of Byron, Lilas “Reid” Lann Jr. passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, at his home with the love of his life, Donna by his side. On July 6, 2022, Reid celebrated his 65th birthday.

Born in McRae, Georgia, Reid was the son of the late Lilas Reid Lann, Sr. and Delilah Belle Meade Lann. A Northside High School Class of 76' graduate, Reid enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked in the AMMO Division after high school. He later dedicated his career to Information Technologies and Computer Sciences. Given many opportunities to work on Air Force bases around the world, Reid chose to spend a large portion of his career in his hometown at Robins Air Force Base. He was especially proud of his experience working with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Reid believed in continuing his education and earned several degrees in his field of expertise throughout his career.

To know Reid was to love him. His infectious smile and personality made everything better. A calm, gentle, and loving soul, Reid would do anything for his friends and the people he loved. He earned several titles over the years to include, “Life of the Party and Mop Stick Pool Table Champion.” When he got excited, Reid would clap and rub his hands together, the simple act delighted everyone around him. He turned every stressful situation into an easy and fun learning experience.

Reid was a dedicated 30-year member of the Macon Motorboat Club, and a talented Jetski driver. Known to imitate Seadoo commercials, he could make any challenging cut. His favorite place to cruise was Shellman’s Bluff, Georgia.

Reid will forever remain in the hearts of all the lives he touched, his friends, and his family. Through the experiences they had with Reid, there are many stories to be shared and he will be celebrated every day.

In addition to his parents, Reid was preceded in death by his siblings, Roxanne Ussery and Phillip Lann.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 20 years, Donna Marie Brown Lann of Byron; siblings, Raymond Johnson (Delores), Lisa Green (Dale), and Jeffrey Lann (Chrissy), all of Warner Robins, Janice Jackson of Sandersville, Paul and Erin Peck of Warner Robins, and Deborah Brown of New York; nieces and nephews, Bruce, Jake, Martin, and Kaitlyn Peck, and Lindsey Green; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Brown of New York; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
