Linda Howard Totty

March 26, 1948 — July 5, 2018

Mrs. Linda Howard Totty, 70, passed away at home on Thursday morning, July 5, 2018. Born in 1948 in Macon, Georgia, Linda was the daughter of the late Croff and Helen Jones Howard.

Immediately following her high school graduation Linda married the love of her life, Lonnie Totty, who had just graduated from Georgia Tech. They moved to St. Louis and then Baltimore before making their home in Warner Robins in 1968. As a young mother, Linda pursued and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Georgia Medical College and then worked as a nurse at Houston Medical Center and other local hospitals. Later, she earned a Masters in Business Administration from Georgia College, became a psychiatric nurse and worked mostly at Charter Northside in Macon. She also gave of her time volunteering with various hospice and home health organizations in the area. Linda was an avid gardener who loved spending time in her beautiful yard where she grew and cultivated many flowers and plants which she would often share with family and friends. It was said that when someone came to visit Linda and brought her one thing they couldn’t leave without taking ten things with them. She was a true giver in every sense of the word; her generosity was well known and unending. She had a heart for helping others as her friends, patients, and neighbors would quickly testify. Additionally, she was also a great cook who enjoyed time in the kitchen and wrote a column on gardening and life that appeared in a local Christian oriented publication. She was a committed wife, mother, and grandmother to an adoring family whom she loved deeply. Her husband, Lonnie, was her best friend and together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Tillman.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Young Totty; daughter, Elizabeth Totty Boyette (John), Greenville, SC; son, Lonnie Young Totty, Jr. (Candace), Eastman, GA; grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Laura Boyette and Noah and Scout Totty; sister, Nelda Howell, Clayton, GA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, July 14th, 2018 between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
