Linda Marie Burton passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was 63 years old.
Born on October 8, 1953 in Cairo, Georgia, Linda, growing up in an Air Force family, moved around with her family until they finally moved to Warner Robins. She graduated from Northside High School and settled in Atlanta where she became a purchasing agent for Apex and most recently for Shakespeare in South Carolina. With a personable and caring disposition, Linda was always the life of the party. She was very imaginative and creative in everything that she did and also showed great perseverance and strength through difficulties. Gardening, fishing, and playing cards were her favorite pastimes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Burton; mother, Jewel Marie Smith and her husband, Ray; father, MSgt. Jesse E. Johnson, USAF (Ret.); and grandson, Devin-Michael Day.
Linda's memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Amy Mitchell Day-Eddy (Steve) of Macon, Paul Woods, Jr., and Brian O'Neil Burton of Atlanta; siblings, Sharon Clayton, Dianne Jones (Keith), Teresa Stallsmith (Bob), Daniel Johnson, and Catherine Cheek; mother, Annie Fay Johnson of Warner Robins; and longtime best friend of 50 years, "P.R."
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31st at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville, Georgia where Linda will be laid to rest.
