Our world has lost one of its’ bright and shining lights.

Linda Faye Keys Nelson Peterson, 82, lost her battle with pneumonia on February 21, 2026. For all of us who knew her, our world is now forever changed. Family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S Houston Lake Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31088 on Wednesday, February 25th with Visitation at 2:00 PM followed by a service at 3:00 PM, both at McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216.

Faye’s life began in Byron, GA on October 9, 1943. She was born into a family that already had 4 children, her being No. 5 and the only one born in a hospital. She graduated high school at McEvoy in 1961 and set out to find employment at Robins Air Force Base. After 49 ½ years, she retired with an outstanding service record. Her last years were spent with the 78 LRS (Logistics Readiness Squadron). Faye left behind many great memories and many great friends.

Faye’s interests and hobbies were numerous - - - she loved fishing, gardening, going to the beach, cats, fashion, music, dancing, but mostly FAMILY. Family was her main priority - - - she always made birthdays and holidays (whether a BD party for Phil or Thanksgiving for a crowd) special for all. For her, there was nothing more special than a family gathering and she put a lot of her energy into those events. During Jason’s baseball years (little league through college) she was referred to by many of the players as Mama Faye - - - she loved feeding all of them. But mostly Faye will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, love of life, and her strength. Faye always fought any battle with grace and set examples for all around her. She was a mentor to many.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin and Maddie Florence Keys; brothers James F. Keys (June Keys) and Grover P. Keys (Sondra); and sister Joan Keys Lowe Wilson Ellington.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 43 years, Philip J. Peterson of Warner Robins; her daughter Jackie Lynn Nelson (Betty Griffin) of Stockbridge; her son Jason Emory Nelson (Jessica Austin Nelson), and her precious grandchild Noah Emory Nelson of Perry; Her brother Harold and Flo Keys of Macon; many loving nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends in which there are too many to mention.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
