Linda “Kay” Rozier Segars was born on August 18, 1943, in Macon, Georgia, to Alvin and Lois Rozier of Danville. She grew up in middle Georgia and spent her life rooted in the place and the people she loved. Kay had a servant’s heart and devoted herself to her faith, her family, and her community. She was a proud charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she formed lasting friendships, served as the church secretary, helped with children’s ministries, volunteered on church committees, enjoyed the book club, and participated in the ladies’ Bible study class.

Kay attended Twiggs County High School and later Middle Georgia College. After her time as the church secretary, she began her career at Robins Federal Credit Union and later transitioned to Robins Air Force Base. She worked there as an Inventory Management Specialist and devoted 32 years to civil service.

Kay lived the words of loving like Jesus and showed those around her what it meant to give grace upon grace. She lived with strength, dignity, and kindness, and she carried a quiet elegance that seemed to lift a room the moment she walked in. Her love reached far beyond her own household and warmly included her daughters-in-law’s families, whom she welcomed as her own. She also made countless memories traveling with family and friends, exploring and she treasured those moments.

Kay shared 51 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Billie Taylor Segars, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lois Rozier; her brother, Randy Rozier; her sister, Shirley Lewis; her grandson-in-law, Chase Maddox; and her great-grandson, Bradin Maddox.

Kay loved being a wife to Billie and she loved being a mother to her two sons, Ebb and Gregg. She raised her boys with joy, supported them in everything they did, and was their biggest cheerleader. She followed them across the state of Georgia to their sporting events and continued to encourage and love them as they grew into their own families. She treasured being a grandmother and great-grandmother, and in being a homemaker. Her sons were her greatest pride and joy. In her own words, they gave her a good life, and she was deeply proud to be their mother.

Her legacy continues in the lives of her sons, Ebb Segars (Tammy) of Molena, Georgia, and Gregg Segars (Christy) of Bonaire, Georgia; her sister, Bobbie Mullis (Sam) of Kathleen, Georgia; her grandchildren Tony, Coleton, Alex, Kayla, Samantha, and Cody; her great-grandchildren Maddie, Teddy, Maverick, Bodie, William, Briggs, and James; and several nieces and nephews.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity and speaks with wisdom. She watches over her household with care, and her children arise and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:25-28

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, with a memorial service immediately following.
