Loftin Danis Richey

On the morning of Thursday, August 2, 2018, Danis Richey joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 78.

Danis was born on April 29, 1940 in Dekalb County, Alabama to the late Ralph and Gwendolyn Loftin Richey. He retired from the Carnation Company as the district sales supervisor. A longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Danis loved his church and took pride in working in the church’s Prayer Garden. He was also very active with each of his grand and great-grandchildren as he genuinely enjoyed attended all of their sporting and school events. When he was not at church or with his grandchildren, you could be sure to find Mr. Richey working in the yard or doing something outdoors. He was a lifelong Alabama fan (ROLL TIDE!) and volunteered for many years at Warner Robins National Little League, as well.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two infant granddaughters.

Danis’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris Richey and children, Denise Cook-Arnold (Ronnie) and Darrell Richey, all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Joshua Cook (Jesi), Jordan Richey, Skylar Richey, and Miranda Arnold; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Jayci Cook; brother, Patrick “Pat” Richey (DeLeslyn) of Crossville, Alabama; and “adopted” daughter, Michelle Tuggle.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Hutto officiating. Afterwards, Mr. Richey will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Mr. Richey to Trinity United Methodist Church Prayer Garden, 129 S. Houston Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
