On the evening of Monday, August 8, 2016, Lois Wallace joined her beloved husband of 40 years, Carlton Wayne Wallace in Heaven. She was 90 years old.
Lois was born on April 27, 1926 in Butts County, Georgia to the late Benjamin and Lucy Cornwell Speir. She moved to Warner Robins in June of 1955 and was a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base. Mrs. Wallace loved her family, her home, her beautiful yard, and her many plants and flowers. Evergreen Baptist was her church home.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Comer Speir and Leon Speir; and her sisters, Gertrude Bryant and Helen Stuart.
She leaves her memory behind with loving daughters, Carol O'Neal of Fayetteville and Freda O'Neal Hankins and son-in-law, Charles Hankins of Warner Robins; grandsons, Paul Matthews (Aretta) and Mark Matthews (Sonja); great-grandchildren, Tyler Matthews, Kayla Smith (Dalton), Brandon Matthews, and Abigale Matthews; sister, Nonie Hunnicutt of Forsyth; brother, Benjamin Speir of Juliette; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 11th from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Father Joe Hassell officiating. Lois will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Mrs. Wallace to Homestead Hospice, 500 Osigian Blvd, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
