Lonnie Razz Lavender, Sr.

August 27, 1956 — September 7, 2021

Lonnie Razz Lavender, Sr. of Gordon passed from this life into the arms of his heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 65 years old.

A man of many talents, Lonnie could build or fix anything he got his hands on. By nature, he was artistic and detail-oriented which helped in his job as a diesel mechanic at LJL Truck Center. Lonnie’s passion for mechanics was not set on trucks as he loved fast cars and hot rods, whether it was driving them or working on them.

A lifelong resident of Middle Georgia, Lonnie attended Twiggs County High School. He was an animal lover who enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible. He was a big fan of country music and could sing and dance with the best of them. A man of faith, Lonnie passed on this love of the Lord to his family. He attended New Haven Church.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Lavender and Neila May Peacock Lavender; his siblings, Thomas Lavender, Sara Lavender, and Shirley Lavender.

Left to treasure the memory of their husband, father, grandfather, and brother are his wife of 30 years, Vickie Lavender; children, Chancey Shugart (Brandon) of Warner Robins, Razzy Lavender (Christina) of Macon, Haley Byrd of Gray, Christopher Lavender (Shae) of Gordon, and Christian Lavender of Gordon; sister, Ruth Lavender; and grandchildren, Chandon Shugart, Branson Shugart, Kameryn Lavender, Kristianna Lavender, Tristany Lavender, Shannon Lavender, and Samantha Lavender.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A celebration of Lonnie’s life will take place at noon on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Lonnie will be laid to rest privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Lonnie’s memory to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road PMB #359, Macon, GA 31210.
