Lorraine Jenson, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully in Hudson, Florida. Born on August 10, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lorraine lived a long and beautiful life of 100 years, defined by kindness, spirituality, and a quick wit that brought comfort and joy to everyone who knew her.
In August 1952, Lorraine married Toby Jenson, beginning a partnership filled with love, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Married for nearly 70 years, Lorraine and Toby traveled the world together, embracing every opportunity to explore new places, discover new cultures, and share unforgettable experiences. Their journeys became some of the most cherished chapters of her life. Toby peacefully passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of love that continued to shape Lorraine’s days.
Lorraine was also known for her remarkable gift of hospitality. She loved feeding people—family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who walked through her door. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and connection, where she expressed her love through home‑cooked meals, shared laughter, and the simple joy of gathering around a table. Her wit often filled the room as much as the aroma of her cooking, and she was fond of saying, “If you can’t eat it, you don’t need it,” a phrase that perfectly captured her humor and her generous, food‑centered way of loving others.
In her final years, Lorraine found peace and happiness in Florida, where she loved watching the ducks and the occasional dolphin that passed through the canal, spending quiet moments observing the wildlife and reflecting on her life and blessings. The gentle rhythm of nature brought her serenity, and she cherished those moments deeply.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Joe Barnett and Gary Jenson, and Gary’s wife, Angela. Gary and Angela lovingly cared for her in Florida during her final years. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lori Katzell (Rich), Ashley Richey (Troy), Jon‑Michael Jenson (Tonya), Jennifer Ferguson (DiJai), Brett Jenson (Payton), and Brandon Jenson; and her great‑grandchildren: Micah, Blake, Austin, Taylor, Isaiah, Kayden, Briella, Colt, Corbin, and Josephine. Her legacy continues to grow, with another great‑grandchild expected, Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Toby Jenson; her daughter‑in‑law, Doris Ann (wife of Joe Barnett); and her great‑grandchildren Hunter and Katie; along with other cherished family members who passed before her.
Visitation with Lorraine’s family will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
